About
If you live a normal university life as a normal university student, how much can you know and see in the world, no Japan?
Perhaps just walking on paved roads, living in a controlled city, and immersing yourself in the cogwheeling entertainment of your business will make you want to know everything about the world.
However, the world underfoot is infinite. Breaking through the vegetation, surrendering yourself to the torrent of the river, knowing the true world, it will surely give you a glimpse of human activities before they grew up in the greenhouse of science, regain the rich sensibilities of their lost ancestors, and You will be able to see yourself, which you have never seen before.
Exploration is by no means just seeking the unknown. It's also about "exploring" to find yourself that you haven't seen yet.

About the exploration department
The purpose of establishing Keio University's exploration department
In 1967, about half a century ago, the Society aims to improve the mind and body and further foster curiosity by visiting various places against nature and stepping into unknown territories under the name of the Exploration Department. Was founded in. We develop various activities on the stage of nature represented by mountains, rivers, caves and so on. It is one of the traditional student exploration organizations that has made many achievements both in Japan and overseas.
Many explorers have been produced so far, and prominent graduates include Michio Hoshino (explorer, writer, photographer).
Activity content
Keio's exploration department is characterized by a wide range of activities, from physical exploration activities such as kayaking, mountain climbing, and fountain research to academic exploration activities such as abandoned villages, hippie commune, and religious studies. am. Especially in recent years, the latter academic exploration has become popular.
Members are free to propose activities and recruit members. It is a flow to make a plan and execute it in cooperation with members gathered by volunteers. The following activity content is an example, and it is possible to start activities that are not here from the first grade.
Recent activities include fountain survey, tree sea camp, abandoned village exploration, torrent kayak, urban river kayak survey, mountain climbing, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region survey, Japanese hippy commune survey, various religious studies, uninhabited island survival, insect food research, Long-distance bicycle activities, etc. In the past, development of undeveloped kayak routes in South America, crossing Lake Biwa with hot air balloons, infiltration exploration of the Kanda River underground waterway in Tokyo, and limestone cave surveys have also been conducted.

慶應義塾 探検部の特徴
違いを真に尊重する気風
部としての団結はしつつも、個人としての自由が大きく尊重されています。活動は基本的に自由参加であり、一人一人の性格、特徴も常識、倫理の度を超えない範囲で尊重され、それが当たり前の雰囲気となっています。（ただし安全管理上信頼関係が重要なので、部会はなるべく出てもらってます。）
探検部は、男女問わず、本当の自分を出して、伸び伸びと過ごすことが出来る、大学のサークルとしては稀有な存在なのです。
他大学探検部との交流
関東学生探検連盟を通じ、他大学探検部との人的交流、技術的交流にも力を入れています。慶應探検部はインカレではありませんが、多くの共通の志を持っている他大学の方々と出会う機会が多く設定されています。
全員が主役
探検部の活動企画は、幹部ではなく、一人一人の部員によって行われ、それによって部が成立しています。
一年生を含めた部員全員が発案者となり、自身の興味分野、問題意識、学びをもとに、自分の行いたいことを計画します。技術面では各人で差異はありますが、他の活動参加者を巻き込んで、協力して企画を練っていきます。また、探検部として行っていたなかった企画も一年生から提案することが出来ます。
探検部では、真の意味で全員が主役であり、部員一人一人にも最終的には主体的に動くことが求められています。
探検部は、主体的に活動を発案してくれる、あるいは他人が考えた計画に、積極的に注力して、一緒に発展させてくれる、そんな人を求めています。
多種多様な人々の壺
探検部の一つの特徴です。年齢、学年、学部、所属過程、所属キャンパスは多様です。普段、それらの壁を感じることは皆無でしょう。新歓も一年生だけでなく、上級学年の参加者もおり、年齢に関係なく挑戦する者たちを受け入れています。
幅広い守備範囲
本格的な探検活動から、文化・学術探検活動まで幅広いジャンルで活動をしています。特に、近年は文化・学術探検活動も盛んになってきており、宗教学的調査、ヒッピーコミューン運動関連など、活発な調査活動と実地訪問、探査が行われています。

Subcommittee: Face-to-face once a week (@ Hiyoshi Campus)
Face-to-face communication is important to maintain emergence within the department. The subcommittee is held face-to-face once a week in the classroom (or club room) on the Hiyoshi Campus. The day of the week is decided by a questionnaire every semester. Some people go from afar every week in search of a unique community of exploration clubs.
Since simultaneous online distribution is always available, you can participate from anywhere in the world. You can rest assured that you are busy with your studies, far away from home, wandering, or exploring. In addition, although it is based in Hiyoshi, students belonging to other campuses make up half of the members. (Participation in the subcommittee is not compulsory.)
In addition, during the period when there are many people who go home for exploration, such as long vacations, it is done only online, and it is often done late.

Department fee: 5000 yen / year
The club fee for 2022 is 5,000 yen. Collect from all members for the enhancement of group equipment. Other than that, as a department, there is no particular cost to be collected from everyone, but of course each activity will incur personal costs. Some activities, such as distant activities and long-term activities, are expensive.
Field of activity: Everything on earth
Everything on earth is a field and it's up to you where to go. Based on your awareness of problems, interests, and motivation, it is possible and recommended to propose and carry out activities from the first year of joining the club.

Most of the members also work with some kind of organization. The frequency of activities as an exploration club is relatively high, but there are many activities with a small number of people, and the style of participating only in activities that interest you, and because you are tolerant of the club, you have a high degree of freedom. (Some people come only once every six months, but there is no awkward atmosphere in the department, and it appears occasionally.)
It is also recommended as an executive. This is because there are many people who are soaked in the unique place of the exploration club that they cannot understand the society and common sense.

探検部の運営上の安全管理等
探検部は慶應義塾公認団体であり、安全・安心なサークル、各メンバーが快適にすごせる環境を一つのウリとしています。

飲酒、イッキ飲みの強要、薬物との関わりは一切なく、飲まなければいけないような雰囲気もありません。また、いわゆる飲み会が活動の一種となってしまっているサークルではありません。（お酒が苦手・全く飲まない部員は三分の一ほど居ます。）

普通のサークルに扮して、カルト宗教団体、その他の宗教団体等に勧誘する動きがあるようですが、探検部ではそのような行為は探検部内、メンバー個人の間でも一切行なっておらず、認めてもいません。また、政治団体等特定の思想を持ち、活動する組織との関わりはありません。

おかしいことは素直に「おかしい」と言える雰囲気が有ります。団結力はありますが、同時に個人の意思、主体性も全メンバーが大切にしています。
